Supporting program for the special exhibition “CRIME SCENE Porzellan(ikon): A Mystery in Selb” SPIEGEL journalist Thomas Heise shares insights into his daily work

The media plays a decisive role in shaping our perception of crime. Which cases garner attention—and how they are reported—influences how we interpret and understand them.
In conjunction with the special exhibition “Crime Scene Porzellan(ikon): A Mystery in Selb,” Thomas Heise—a *Spiegel* journalist, crime reporter, and author of the book *Der Jahrhundertcoup: Ein Clan auf Beutezug und die Jagd nach den Juwelen aus dem Grünen Gewölbe*—will speak on September 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. He will discuss his experiences as a journalist and the way crime cases are handled in media coverage, offering insights into selected topics and examining the interplay between public perception and media portrayal.
