The educational section “Playing with Ceramics” at the MIC offers five summer CRE (Educational Recreational Center) sessions (June 8–12, June 15–19, July 27–31, August 17–21, and August 24–28, 2026) for children aged 6 to 11.
Each day, participants will take part in ceramic workshops inspired by Bruno Munari’s Playing with Art method, led by ceramic artist Antonella Bassenghi. In the spacious workshop areas and museum galleries, children will discover aspects of ceramic history through a combination of play and technique. They will experiment with clay manipulation and unleash their creativity to create bowls, vases, and textures inspired by the objects displayed in the Museum.
Each week will focus on a different theme, explored together with the workshop instructor through engaging and creative activities.
Fridays will always be a special occasion, dedicated to creating an exhibition where the children will curate and present the works they have produced throughout the week. Parents will be invited to attend, share in the experience, and celebrate the results of the creative journey.
When picking up their children, parents will also have the opportunity to view the ceramic artworks created during the activities.

ART AND NATURE: Earth, Air, Water, and Fire / June 8–12
Ceramics are the combination of all the vital elements. We will draw inspiration from them to create original ceramic artworks.
THE MIDDLE AGES: WORKSHOPS AND CASTLES / June 15–19
Coats of arms and decorative motifs among clay castles and containers inspired by the journeys of knights and pilgrims.
CERAMICS FROM AROUND THE WORLD / July 27–31
From the Maya calendar of the “Piedra del Sol” to the musical clay instruments of pre-Columbian peoples. From the blue-and-white stories told through Chinese porcelain to the ceramic traditions of the Near East.
ANIMALS, MONSTERS, AND FANTASTICAL CREATURES / August 17–21
Dragons, phoenixes, griffins, unusual rhinoceroses, and elephants. A world to shape with clay and colors.
A JOURNEY THROUGH CONTEMPORARY ART: TODAY’S CREATIVES / August 24–28
Special projects to create artist-inspired collages, invent clay architectures, and design artistic vases.
The ceramic works created by the children will be fired and delivered to families within three weeks after the end of the course.

To register, it is mandatory to complete the form available at the following link.
Registration will be considered valid only after payment of the participation fee by 1:00 p.m. on the Thursday preceding the start of the selected CRE session.
Payment must be made by bank transfer, only after receiving confirmation that the CRE session has been activated.
The weekly participation fee for the current year is €100 + VAT (22%).
A 10% discount is available for the second sibling.
