Cultural Coffee: Porcelain and Personalities Fascinating stories about interesting people – Karen Müller (1939–2022), ceramic artist

Karen Müller (1939–2022) was an internationally acclaimed German ceramic artist who played a pivotal role in shaping German studio ceramics over the course of many decades. An artist of exceptional talent, she received numerous awards both at home and abroad for her work—pieces that were often large-scale yet delicate. Karen Müller is best known for her expressive sculptures and her wafer-thin, fragile, wheel-thrown vessels, many of which are remarkably large. In 2023, the Porzellanikon acquired two works from her estate, crafted from her preferred material: “porcelain—the diva.” You can learn more about these two pieces and the artist who created them at the “Kulturkaffee” (Culture Coffee) event on October 7, 2026. Afterward, you are invited to socialize in a relaxed atmosphere over coffee, tea, and cake.

Price: €6.00 for the guided tour, coffee, and cake (plus museum admission).
